To function as a receptionist, performing a wide variety of clerical duties including: maintaining patient charts; documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information for the unit; answering the telephone and taking accurate messages. Inputting into the computer and writing reports. Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
Proven keyboarding skills of 30 wpm (tested);
Knowledge of Meditech Admission module and Order Entry module;
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative;
Must have a satisfactory performance record;
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area.
