Founded in 1983, Bishop Hamilton Montessori School is a Montessori Canada accredited, not for profit independent school offering a Christian Montessori education to over 200 students in the Ottawa area. At BHMS, we believe that all children are competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. In keeping with Montessori pedagogy, our programs place children at the centre of the learning environment.

We are preparing for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year and are inviting interested candidates to submit their resume for possible positions in our Infant, Toddler and Casa programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the school
• Plan and implement lesson plans
• Manage and guide individual student behaviour
• Maintain accurate records including long and short-term lesson plans, observations and student individual progress
• Conduct parent teacher conferences and prepare required written progress reports

Qualifications

• AMI or MACTE Montessori teacher training diploma
• A minimum of 3 years classroom experience
• Bachelor of education is an asset

• Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication
• Reliability, with a high degree of personal integrity
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills

• Current Vulnerable Screening Police Record check
• Current Standard First Aid / CPR-C certification
