Retail Store Supervisor Full Time

Job Responsibility:

This position reports to the director of operations and will supervise the day-to-day operation of the metal shop as well as contribute to continuous improvement of key metrics. The successful candidate should have a substantial background in Metal Fabrication and Powder painting in a supervisory or management role.
Responsibilities

• Effective supervision of day-to-day manufacturing in a single shift, five day/week metal shop operation.
• Utilize manufacturing tools/methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with our labour union.
• Ensure performance metrics encompassing all key manufacturing deliverables are in place and meeting them is a daily mindset.
• Ensure sound processes are in place to achieve best-in-class quality and on time delivery in a cost-effective manner.
• Make workplace safety a priority across the organization.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a metal fabrication plant.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills while working effectively in a team environment.
• Must have hands-on experience with both steel and aluminum welding (mig & tig).
• Working knowledge of laser cutting machinery a plus.
• Solid working knowledge of ERP/MRP and the Microsoft Office software suite.
• Manufacturing supervisory experience with a working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and a formal Continuous Improvement Program.
• Post-Secondary education in a related field is beneficial.
