General Building Manager

Building and Grounds Manager Location Winnipeg, MB : Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Buildings and Grounds Manager. This role involves performing manual tasks, managing staff, coordinating projects, and ensuring the property adheres to safety regulations and operational standards. They are responsible for maintaining a clean, well-maintained, and functional environment for all staff and visitors. Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and be a hands on member of the team; have working knowledge and experience with heavy machinery, yard and lot maintenance and repair, understanding of building systems (HVAC/ Electrical/ Plumbing), vendor management. This role requires effective project management abilities and the capacity to supervise a team while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational efficiency. Duties
Maintenance and repairs: Performing, coordinating and overseeing maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards.
Budget management: Assisting in the preparation and management of facility-related budgets.
Vendor management: Negotiating contracts with service vendors, and managing vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Compliance: Ensuring that facilities adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Reporting: Preparing reports on facility operations, maintenance, and costs.
Support for the General Manager: Providing assistance with strategic planning, project management, and other tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
Employee relations: Providing support and guidance to maintenance staff, resolving any issues that may arise.
Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including staff, vendors, and occupants.
Skills
Hands on manager, with the ability to perform and manage taks in and around the facilities.
Proficient in managing facilities.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
Strong command of English for clear communication with team members and stakeholders.
Exceptional project management skills to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
