In addition to competitive compensation and flexible benefits, a Remote Retention Allowance is currently in place, to a maximum of $3,000 annually. This non-pensionable allowance is paid on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay. Location: Based out of the Peace River Hub, this position supports service delivery across Peace River, Fairview, Manning, McLennan, Red Earth Creek, and Worsley. Staff have the opportunity to choose shifts at any of these sites based on availability. Post-secondary education or training will only be considered when accompanied by proof of program completion (e.g. degree, diploma, or certificate). As a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), you will assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities. You may also lead the BLS crew in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes. You will assist with ensuring that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles, such as non-emergent transport (NET), are properly stocked and equipped. The working environment for a PCP is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. You will need to travel in all weather conditions and to remote locations (e.g. backcountry) with exposure to hazardous and graphic scenes and direct exposure to bodily fluids. Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP). test via the certificate provided by the Lifemark organization for those who do not already hold a clinical position within AHS EMS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP and Community Paramedic). E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of your application. Alberta Health Services EMS may verify results with Lifemark to ensure the candidate has successfully completed the test. Additional Required Qualifications: Applicants must provide proof of program completion for any post-secondary education or training at the time of application for it to be considered during the selection process. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility environment and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety. Completion of additional post-secondary programs is considered an asset.
