Your Opportunity: The team at Leduc Patient Care Services (PSC), is looking to add a highly engaged, enthusiastic, and outgoing Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in this fast-paced, public-facing location. Here you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as a member of our team where you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, ECG’s and monitoring wait times to ensure you are providing the best service to your patients. In this role you will be the first contact that patients have with the laboratory. Your organization and communication skills will help you collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and other health care professionals. This position includes rotating shift between 0700-1830 hours from Monday to Friday at Leduc, Breton and Beaumont Village PSC and every third Saturday from 0700-1530 hours at Leduc PSC. Due to the location, access to reliable personal transportation is required as some of the possible work sites do not have access to public transportation. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications: Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification
Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience ECG experience
A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
