Maintenance Assistant-Permanent Part time

Heartwood Long-term care Starting pay: $21.00/hour
Part-time, permanent, 15hrs/week
Southbridge, the owner and operator of several long-term care homes and retirement communities across Southwestern Ontario, is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their long-term care home in Scarborough, ON.
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, this role is responsible for performing general routine maintenance, and servicing operations throughout the home, keeping our home environment safe for residents and staff alike!

Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program
Regularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home.
Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds)
Check the operation of the mechanical equipment.
Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment.
Complete regular maintenance reports.
Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work.
High School Diploma and a college level trade certificate is an asset.
Two or more years of supervisory experience within long-term care or similar role would be considered an asset.
Experience managing employees in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.
Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred.
