Maintenance Management Coordinator

Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor leads the Fixed, Electrical and Instrumentation team across the site, ensuring safe, efficient work that meets operational standards. They oversee maintenance planning, project execution, and troubleshooting while supporting team development and performance management. This role works closely with other departments to align operational systems with site requirements.
The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce ~3.0 million ounces of silver in 2026.
The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Here’s What You Can Expect In This Role
Supervise, coordinate, and develop the Fixed & E&I team across the Keno Hill mine site (surface and underground)Ensure that all work is performed in a manner that conforms to all site safety policies and procedures while recognizing personnel who consistently meet or exceed expectationsDevelop audit systems for site infrastructure and corresponding preventative maintenance programsExecute scheduled maintenance with a high level of schedule complianceProven ability to scope and sequence a job, quote/order materials and schedule manpower in conjunction with respective PlannerDevelop safe work procedures and provide technical/operational input into maintenance procedures and systemsAssist or support during trouble shooting, find or propose solutions to solve problemsSchedule personnel rotations, performance reviews, administer vacation and disciplinary issue in accordance with company policies and standardsAssist with the planning and execution of infrastructure construction projectsWork closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure operational systems are aligned with site requirementsCommunicate key activities to direct reports and senior managersOther duties may be assigned.You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices throughout the organization.You will be a part of team you can rely on; a team that will have your back.
Qualifications
Journeyman Red Seal certification in an applicable trade is requiredMinimum 5 years’ experience - underground mining and processing maintenance supervisionSignificant experience working on CMMS systemExcellent skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Extensive and proven expertise in Electrical CodeStrong organization and leadership skillsSuperior communication with peers, supervisors, and management

Safety, Health, Environmental Responsibilities And Accountabilities
All Hecla personnel shall strive to achieve best practice in safety, health, and environmental and assist in the control of incidents, injuries, and loss. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Work Environment
Employees will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including snow and ice, as well as extreme temperatures ranging from cold to warm. The work environment may involve contact with potentially hazardous wildlife, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the use of explosives. There is also a risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration. Noise levels can occasionally be loud, depending on the task or location on site.
Work Location & Schedule
This is a fly-in fly-out position based at a remote mining camp, operating on a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off. Camp accommodations and meals are provided while on site. All travel to and from the mine site is arranged through a designated travel agency and coordinated from approved flight hubs.
To ensure efficient travel logistics, we are primarily seeking candidates who reside in the Yukon, British Columbia, and Alberta, particularly near major transportation centers within these regions.
