Vice President, Commercial Credit Risk Management

Provides strategic direction leadership and oversight for the Unsecured Line of Credit Term Loan and Overdraft Protection portfolios in Canada ensuring business strategies plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

Strategic Direction and Leadership:
Provides strategic direction leadership and oversight for the Unsecured Line of Credit Term Loan and Overdraft Protection portfolios in Canada.
Accountable for the end-to-end performance of the portfolios and lifecycle from product design to marketing acquisition engagement servicing and portfolio management.
Accountable for delivering on Strategic Investment Pool (SIP) projects for new products and refreshing the existing suite.
Defines and optimizes lending/portfolio management strategies and corresponding levers (Balance Transfers Credit Limit Increases etc.) Manages Buy Now Pay Later capabilities and campaigns to drive balance growth and improve profitability.
Ensures business strategies plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

P&L & Portfolio Management:
Leads and manages P&L for the Lending portfolio including Unsecured Lines of Credit Term Loans and Overdraft Protection ensuring revenue growth profitability and cost efficiency.
Leads portfolio management strategy to monitor and improve profitability.
Liaises with Credit Cards Payments and Customer Experience team to ensure alignment against broader organizational objectives.

Customer-Centric Orientation:
Ensures strong value propositions that will benefit our clients and advance the Banks primacy and digital goals.
Works with Customer Experience Technology and Operations to define customer journeys and provide best-in-class service.
Leads the Lending and Portfolio Management Team championing our ScotiaBond values.
Builds a high-performance culture and implements a people strategy that attracts retains develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; and manages succession and development planning for the team.

Risk Management:
Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Banks risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Balances growth objectives with prudent risk management disciplines.
Ensures the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk regulatory compliance risk AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.

15 years of experience in product strategy product management and P&L management particularly in consumer lending.
Proven experience in building and managing consumer products; Proven ability to balance profitability objectives against prudent risk management practices.
Experience in managing digital transformation initiatives and improving customer experiences in digital channels.
Bachelors degree in business finance marketing or related fields. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
