The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

Type of Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Holidays

The cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in patient, staff and public areas. The work of cleaners influences the incidence of infection in the hospital by reducing the numbers of microorganisms from the health care environment. This is accomplished by environmental cleaning and disinfection. The duties of the cleaners may vary according to the area of the hospital in which they work.

Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Previous cleaning experience in a hospital, healthcare or hospitality environment preferred
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment preferred

Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to lift, handle and push heavy equipment / supplies (weight of 20 to 40 pounds)
