The Claims Examiner will be experienced in claims examining, including monitoring claims in legal proceedings, negotiating, and settling claims, communicating with other subscribing insurers. How you will create impact:
Directing, adjusting and examining all varieties of MGA claims including Commercial Property, Casualty, Cargo, and Equipment Breakdown.
Investigating claims as assigned within authority and provide control and direction to adjusters, vendors, and solicitors to ensure adjusting standards and litigation protocols are adhered to.
Demonstrating extensive knowledge of insurance coverages, claims handling procedures, investigation methods, and negotiation tactics.
Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external contacts including MGA partners and underwriters.

To join our team:
Minimum 3-5 years of commercial claims experience is required.
Experience handing Casualty Claims (Bodily Injury, General Liability, Third Party Property Damage) is an asset.
Knowledge of Policy Wordings and Claims Handling procedures.
CIP/FCIP designation is an asset.

You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
This position will operate on a hybrid work posture which will require an in-office presence of at least twice a week.
Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
You may provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.

Expected salary/hourly range $60,574 - $100,956
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
