Events Manager (full time)

Westerner Park is seeking a full-time Event Coordinator to join our dynamic Event Services team, with a primary focus on supporting our self-produced events, including Westerner Days, the Red Deer Pro Rodeo, the Ultimate Holiday Party, and many more.
The Event Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and successful execution of both self-produced and client-booked events. This position works closely with internal teams, clients, vendors, and event partners to help bring events to life while ensuring exceptional customer service and memorable experiences for our guests.
Under the direction of the Event Fulfillment Manager, the Event Coordinator is responsible for the following:
Client & Event Coordination
Serve clients across multiple channels (in person, by phone, and online) to understand and meet event needs.
Manage events from initial inquiry to completion, including proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Coordinate event details such as floor plans, staffing, services, and logistics.
Conduct site tours and develop customized event proposals.
Event Execution & Support
Provide on-site and on-call support to ensure seamless event delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to execute events to the required standard.
Support the planning and delivery of self-produced events.
Maintain strong knowledge of the events calendar, market trends, and client base.

Post-secondary education in events, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 4–5 years of experience in event planning and/or sales preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with CRM systems (e.g., EventPro) and AutoCAD is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic event environment.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
• Knowledge of venue operations, event logistics, and health & safety regulations is an asset.

Employment Type : Full-Time (approximately 40 hours per week)
