Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Assistant will work as part of a dedicated team to support the day-to-day operational needs of the Finance Office. As the Financial Assistant, you will be responsible for processing various transactions on FIS; answering vendor and customer inquiries; processing expense reimbursement forms, ensuring compliance to University policies and procedures; reconciling accounts; assisting with the preparation of all documentation for reconciliation and preparing accounting forms and reports for the Director.

Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to financial tasks
Verifying that supporting documentation is attached to financial records before processing in FIS
Acting as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries
Verifying the accuracy and completeness of information
Minimum three years of recent and related financial and payroll experience, preferably in a university environment.
Experience processing and reconciling financial, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll records.
Experience maintaining databases and producing reports.
Experience monitoring and reconciling budget and research grants.
Advanced working knowledge of MS Office suite of products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Advanced working knowledge with HRIS and FIS or other related financial and payroll systems.
Demonstrated working knowledge of databases and producing reports.
Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational skills and planning ability, ability to pay meticulous attention to detail.

This is a term position for 6 months and is a replacement position.
