Automation Testing Engineer
Intermediate Automation Developer
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto ( Onsite : 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
This position is provisionally Onsite , requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM , Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Akkodis is seeking an Intermediate Automation Developer to design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions supporting large‑scale enterprise applications within the Ontario Public Service (OPS). The successful candidate will enhance QA efficiency, support SDLC workflows, and strengthen the overall quality of enterprise systems .
Identify automation opportunities across development and testing processes to improve efficiency.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using established frameworks and tools.
Support functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing through both automated and manual methods.
Analyze defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and collaborate with QA and development teams to resolve issues.
Automated test scripts developed, maintained, and executed for assigned applications or modules.
Clear documentation of automation test plans, test cases, results, and defect logs.
Root‑cause analysis reports and recommendations for defect resolution.
Updated automation framework components or libraries as needed.
Strong automation‑testing experience using Selenium.
- Proficient in REST API testing (Postman, SOAP UI).
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and test‑data preparation.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test scripts.
- Strong experience in manual testing, defect management, and integration testing.
Familiarity with BPM tools such as jBPM, Activiti, IBM Process Server, Camunda BPM, or Drools.
