Part-Time Professors

Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program. This advanced diploma program is the second of its kind in Ontario to offer specialized training in MRI ultrasound or X-ray/CT. The School of Applied Health seeks a part-time professor to teach lectures and/or labs in semester one and/or two within the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program.
Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds experiences and individual learning styles.

Delivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online according to evidence and theory-based teaching and learning principles and in accordance with Sheridan Policies and Procedures;
Engaging students in meaningful and student-centered academic experiences while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students work within assigned courses;
Tutoring and academic counselling of students while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students work within assigned courses;
You have a passion for sharing your knowledge with others and contributing to the advancement of your field.
You respect equity and diversity and value participating in and creating safe and inclusive environments at work and in the community.
You are an agile individual with an ability to respond and adapt to change while using your problem-solving skills to most appropriately and effectively support each students unique needs. Licensed Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist (MRIT) Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) or equivalent regulatory body in another jurisdiction;
Or a Professor holding a degree in Medical Imaging Health Sciences or a related field.
Bachelors degree in medical Imaging Sciences Pathology Health Sciences or a closely related discipline or equivalent combination of education and extensive professional experience to be considered.
Completion of Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology Diagnostic Medical Sonography or other imaging specialty from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 35 years recent relevant clinical practice in the field of specialization.
Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary or clinical level (lecture lab or clinical supervision) considered an asset.
Experience with curriculum development assessment and integration of competency-based education is an asset.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and maintaining current knowledge of the field.
Proficiency with educational technologies and simulation-based learning.
Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry.
Formal studies in adult or higher education are an asset.
Proficiency in computer software packages such as Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
