Millwright / Industrial Mechanic (Temporary)

Career Opportunity The Smurfit Westrock Mississauga Tube facility is looking for a licensed Industrial Millwright 433A. This position is responsible for the preventative, predictive and troubleshooting of production equipment and building maintenance.

All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment medical.

Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilitates and determines maintenance requirements. Perform proper follow-up on repairs to implement long term solutions;

Responds to breakdowns on plant equipment, facilities and buildings. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production;

Maintains preventative maintenance programs and ensures regular checks and lubrication on all equipment;

Maintains operation of the heating and energy supply;

Assist in minor electrical repairs and reset safely;

Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in equipment design;

Be able to handle heavy equipment safely and have knowledge of foundation work;

Assists in the development of the plant occupational health and safety program.

Works with suppliers to source repair and replacement parts

High school diploma

• Certified Industrial Millwright 433A license
• Electrical experience is an asset
• 3-5 years working in a Canadian manufacturing environment
• Technical knowledge
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Italian Proficiency is a definite asset
• Willing to travel to Italy for 2-3 weeks for training
