The Senior Underwriter will contribute to the growth of the business by underwriting Inland Marine products under general direction issuing quotes and policies while ensuring standards and compliance guidelines are met. Responsible for underwriting large accounts and building relationships with clients and brokers.

Delivering strategic account reviews and preparing associated file documentation
Assisting management with the implementation of profit center strategic initiatives and providing technical underwriting and marketing support on other projects
Working with management brokers clients and other partners on deal structure contract terms and conditions on a portfolio of more complex risks
Participating in special underwriting projects as needed
Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal & external)

Understanding of Inland Marine Insurance and associated risks including fundamentals of loss trends loss triangles and ratemaking etc. with a focus on Transportation and Logistic risks.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) collaboration building trust with wide range of colleagues and clients
Financial acumen appetite for learning about the industry negotiating skills and a focus on writing profitable business
Commercial Insurance Company Agency or Brokerage experience preferred; Inland Marine experience preferred
Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university preferred
