Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months supervising a retail store for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world! As a deployed Retail Supervisor, you are not just providing retail services, but enhancing the morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.
The Retail Supervisor is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based environment. The Retail Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the retail team and operations to great success! You will enforce the health, hygiene, safety, and security standards and programs. Other responsibilities include preparing regular cash audits, periodic reconciliation of deposits, authorizing refunds, voids, and returns, and holding keys, safe combinations, and access codes. You are responsible for an effective monthly inventory of the store and managing contracts and must have an understanding of the store’s financial statements, inventory management, and supply chain. You ensure the implementation and maintenance of loss prevention controls.
The Retail Supervisor plays an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience
Must have a valid Canadian passport
Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5)
In serving menu items
In administrative procedures
In applying policies, procedures and relevant legislation
In inventory control and financial administration
In preparing sales/merchandise reports
Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment
Security screening

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends.
Tax free allowance : Home leave and travel allowance: Possibility of paid leave and travel allowance.
Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Excursions: Possibility to explore and experience the local culture and environment through activities like excursions off base.
In order to be considered for deployment, please include the following in your application. IF SUCESSFUL – SELECTION AND TRAINING COURSE
Successful candidates will be invited to participate in a multi-day training and selection course.
Fully paid attendance, including travel, accommodations and meals
Purpose: You will learn more in-depth about the day-to-day expectations, technical work-related training, as well as a basic understanding of military practices and procedures. Your completion of the training session will be valid for 2 years.
