Compliance/Liaison Officer

As a Compliance Analyst IV, you will join a specialized three-person team dedicated to a high-impact new project. This role is ideal for a proactive individual capable of navigating the intersection of law, finance, and corporate policy. You will be responsible for ensuring that business operations remain in strict adherence to both local and global regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid role based in Waterloo, Ontario, requiring on-site presence on Mondays (Anchor Day) to foster team collaboration.

Strong possibility of contract extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance.

Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct comprehensive compliance testing, audits, and investigations to identify potential gaps.

• Regulatory Advisory: Review new and existing legislation; track and communicate emerging risks to management with recommended actions.
• Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory artifacts, and internal policies.
• Prepare and present high-level reports and presentations for key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and data accuracy.
• Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Business, Compliance, and Control Function partners to ensure cohesive governance.

A University Degree in a related field (Business, Law, Finance, or similar).

• Experience: 3–4 years of professional experience, ideally within a financial institution or a regulatory/compliance environment.
• oProven ability in Regulatory Interpretation (interpreting complex legal text).

oAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

oStrong background in Risk Assessment and Business Writing.

•Preferred Assets: Experience with Data Analytics, Change Management, or presenting to senior leadership.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Standard Business Hours.
