Instructional Designer - L&D (REMOTE)

Cella by Randstad Digital is seeking a highly skilled Learning & Development Designer/Developer to join a dynamic team focused on building capabilities for leaders and employees. Reporting to the Manager of Instructional Technology Development, you will be responsible for designing high-quality, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions that support strategic business priorities. This role requires a blend of instructional design expertise and creative graphic design to develop interactive web-based assets, media, and graphics that strengthen employee knowledge and performance..

The ideal candidate has a background in Instructional Design / Development experience in building complex simulations.

This is a 9-month contract that allows the talent to work remotely from anywhere within Ontario, Canada.

You will not just be building content, but will be "instrumental in developing, executing, and optimizing" solutions that "support business strategic priorities" and "enable people strategies.

• This role allows you to utilize "advanced technical expertise" in "level 4 simulations" and "expert level knowledge" of Articulate 360, positioning you as a high-tier technical lead in the instructional design field.
• You will take a lead role in ensuring "learner accessibility and principles of diversity and inclusion" by applying "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1)" to all digital assets.
• Instructional Design & Content Mapping: Design learning programs including instructional frameworks, content mapping, prototypes, narrative scripts, and storyboards across various delivery methods.
• Creative Development: Author and develop visually engaging learning solutions such as eLearning simulations, online performance support tools, videos, and eBooks while ensuring alignment with brand standards.
• Visual Graphic Design: Act as a technical subject matter expert in creative design, leveraging typography, photography, and illustration to interpret and develop what the learner sees (graphics, formatting, animations).
• Accessibility & Inclusion: Ensure all learning solutions adhere to principles of diversity and inclusion, specifically maintaining learner accessibility standards.
• Assess business requirements to recommend the most effective blend of instructor-led, hands-on, and web-based learning for a given solution.
• Project Leadership: Participate in project scoping and planning, determining end deliverables and resources necessary for success.

8+ years of Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in instructional design and development.

• Proven experience building complex (Level 4) simulations, videos, and assessments.
• Technical Literacy: Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word) and strong creative graphic design skills.
• Accessible Design: Experience designing fully accessible solutions following WCAG 2.1 guidelines, including testing with screen readers like JAWS.
• Professionalism: Ability to think strategically, possess strong business acumen, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• A portfolio of past work in instructional design and development is required as part of the submission process.
• Video Production: Adobe Creative Cloud: Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Virtual Tools: Experience with Adobe Connect, WebEx, or MS Teams virtual learning tools.
