We are seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented experienced Interior Designer to join our Design Trade team, with a focus on hospitality projects. This role will work closely with the Creative Director and Director of Design Trade to support the design and execution of projects across hotels, resorts, and commercial spaces.
You will play a key role in translating Obakki’s design vision into physical environments—curating products, developing design concepts, and collaborating with artisans and global partners to bring projects to life.
This role sits at the intersection of design, sourcing, and storytelling, requiring both strong creative instincts and the ability to execute within real-world project constraints.
Support the design and development of hospitality projects from concept through to execution
Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop design direction, mood boards, and spatial concepts
Source and curate furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories aligned with Obakki’s aesthetic and artisan network
Develop FF&E and OS&E packages, including product specifications, material selections, and finishes
Create client-facing presentations, decks, and visual materials that communicate design intent clearly and beautifully
Work closely with the Trade Project Managers to align design with budgets, timelines, and project scope
Support sample reviews, material approvals, and design refinements throughout the project lifecycle
Stay informed on global design trends, materials, and techniques to continually evolve Obakki’s design language
Assist with on-site styling and installation for key projects, as required
3–6 years of experience in interior design, preferably within hospitality or commercial projects
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a refined, global, and design-forward aesthetic
- Proficiency in design tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and/or similar
- Ability to create compelling presentations and communicate design ideas clearly
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and construction considerations
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Passion for artisan-made products, sustainable design, and culturally rooted work
