Grocery store butcher

A Meat Slicer assists guests in choosing products and portion sizes sharing knowledge about the ingredients and preparation of products at the counter. Reports to the Market Manager.

Assists guests with product selection and slices weighs labels and packages products as requested

Stocks counter and display refrigerators neatly accurately and in a timely manner as per pricing menu

Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards

Maintains proper food handling safety and sanitation standards while preparing serving and cleaning

Keeps display equipment and counters clean and free of debris

Assists with cashier duties at the counter as needed

Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications :

Ability to work quickly and efficiently

Good knife skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Basic math skills

Knowledge of meat products preferred

Customer service experience preferred

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours including standing walking bending and squatting

Ability to use commercial equipment including a meat slicer scales packaging machinery and a cash register
