Accounting Analyst (Temporary)

Regular-Full time Union/Non:

This is a non-union position As the Analyst General Accounting, you will interact extensively with all functions of the finance organization and the Canadian Gas Transmission business in order to carry out day to day activities, maintain controls and improve processes. Duties include day-to-day management of bank accounts and balance sheet general ledgers, invoicing and maintaining internal and external relationships through regular interaction.

General Accounting and Processes

Responsible for the accounting processes over banking transactions, various receivables and payables in Oracle Cloud and Alliance Pipeline SAP including monthly journal entries.

Perform analytical functions including analysis of general ledger, account reconciliations and variance analysis.

Perform monthly inventory accruals and reconciliations in Alliance Pipeline SAP.

Perform FX translation on tax related accounts in Alliance Pipeline SAP.

Complete the payment requisition process to Accounts Payable and provide account coding for various monthly invoices.

Liaise with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax and Treasury to resolve cash-related discrepancies.

Set-up and maintain builder's lien bank accounts and liaise with Supply Chain Group to resolve discrepancies and pay back contractors.

Reconcile intercompany accounts between Canadian Gas Transmission and other business units including regular communication to follow up on discrepancies/outstanding items.

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and effective operation of financial controls

Maintain effective working relationships with Commercial, Production Accounting, Financial/Corporate Reporting, Supply Chain, Internal Controls and external auditors.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with related experience

Canadian accredited Professional accounting designation or working towards a designation is considered an asset

Organized with strong data analysis and Microsoft Excel skills

High degree of initiative, personal responsibility and integrity

Experience in banking or cash management experience

Experience with Oracle Cloud
