An opportunity exists for a Summer Student with the Transmission Field Operations team located in Rocky View County, AB. Provide maintenance planning, schedulers and Altalink Control Center staff with information regarding equipment status and recommend improvements or replacements.
Trouble response for stations facilities in the area.
Assist the Substations team on Capital upgrade and replacement work.
As required, develop and implement a plan for substation work including review and understanding of work packages and related work practices, procedures, policies/standards and regulations, ensuring that all practices meet or exceed existing requirements.

Full-time returning to studies student enrolled in a related and recognized Technologist Diploma program preferably Electrical Engineering Technology.
Must have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets.
Willing to develop skills and a career in the Substation Technologist discipline.
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes.
Demonstrate a willingness to work safely and show concern for environmental, health and safety issues in the workplace.
Strong mechanical as well as electrical aptitude.
Willing to accept out of town working conditions and must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Proven track record of good attendance and performance.
