Financial Accountant - temp to permanent

As an Accountant III, you will join a close-knit operational team responsible for managing critical day-to-day mutual fund trade processes and financial settlements. Working in a high-risk compliance environment, you will handle daily transaction movements, resolve trade discrepancies, and ensure adherence to strict regulatory guidelines.

This role offers a comprehensive 2-week training period, daily team huddles, and ongoing support to ensure your success. It is an ideal fit for a tech-savvy finance professional with an eye for detail and strong internal communication skills.

• Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Standard hours, no overtime required)
• Contract Duration: 6 Months (Extension and Conversion potential)

Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel tools and macros to support and streamline daily operational workflows.

• Provide professional internal customer service and respond promptly to phone and email inquiries.
• Maintain strict adherence to operational controls, internal compliance standards, and regulatory procedures.
• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of overall financial or accounting experience (banking, financial services, or mutual funds background strongly preferred).

•Technical Skills:

oAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and macros).

oStrong proficiency in the broader Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Outlook).

• Hands-on experience with FundSERV and trade settlements is considered a strong asset.
• candidates with a pattern of frequent short-term contracts or job-hopping will not be considered.
