We are currently seeking an Accountant to add to our team in Vaughan, ON. This is a hybrid role reporting to our head-office 2 days a week. Reporting directly to the Manager, Accounting, you will bring strong accounting and analysis experience to this team and will be a critical part of our month-end/year-end closing activities. Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and transfers.
Support capital expenditure (CapEx) approvals and pull fixed asset reports from SAP.
Prepare, review, and reconcile a number of balance sheet accounts, identifying risk and potential write-offs or release to the P&L.
Daily Treasury functions including setting up wires, cash reporting and forecasting.
Complete monthly and quarterly reporting packages for US head office (e.g. Internal and external audit support.
Implement external audit recommendations.
Assist in special projects/ad hoc requests from business as needed.
Backup for Tax Consultant in matters related to commodity & realty taxes, insurance, and statistics Canada filings.
1 - 3 years of related work experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Pursuing CPA (CA. Knowledge of SAP and Blackline is an asset.
- Strong accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a process improvement mindset in the work performed.
- Experience in Medical Segment, distribution organization and/or large multinational organization is an asset.
- Expert Excel skills with ability to work through significant volumes of data.
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to partner successfully with third party organizations, finance, and other departments.
- Driven, customer-focused and result-oriented individual.
