The HR Services group provides quality support to all Bell Canada employees and its subsidiaries. These services include payroll administration, HR-related transactions, management of unionized staff transfers, and administration of the employee discount program. The Payroll Assistant – Support Centre is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by responding to various payroll-related inquiries and redirecting clients when necessary. They also ensure that the advice and recommendations provided contribute positively to payroll processing efficiency.
Receiving and resolving payroll-related requests from employees and managers via various channels (email, online, chat, or incoming calls)
Performing analyses that may sometimes be complex
Understanding payroll processing and validation timelines
Explaining tax slips while complying with laws, government requirements, and collective agreements
Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Clearly and efficiently explaining the various components of payroll for Bell employees and subsidiaries
Analyzing various reports and making necessary corrections
Understanding and being able to calculate gross to net salary, vacation pay, etc
Producing specific reports, tax slips, and related documents for active employees, those on sick leave, and retirees using various applications
Resolving frontline complaints and unusual or complex situations
Knowledge of payroll compliance legislation
General payroll knowledge (understanding and ability to explain various payroll laws, pay stubs, tax slips, etc.)
Experience working in a customer service environment
Knowledge of English and French required and English, in the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
Strong organizational, planning, priority management, and time management skills
Ability to identify obstacles, take appropriate actions, show initiative and judgment, and propose process improvement solutions
Minimum of one year of work experience in a high-volume call center environment
Completion or near completion of training or equivalent from the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
Experience in time management (time administrator in SAP)
Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
Knowledge of SAP / ADP-Workforce Now / Dayforce
Schedule Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM
Occasional overtime may be required

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
