Assistant Controller (Remote)

As the Assistant Controller at Digital Extremes you will be a key driver of financial integrity and strategic oversight. This role requires a high degree of technical accounting knowledge and a strong personal drive.
oversees the Accounting Manager and Payroll team.
Financial Analysis & Oversight: Lead comprehensive balance sheet and income statement analysis ensuring the integrity of the general ledger through rigorous monitoring and review of journal entries and reconciliations.
Support the Controller in preparing consolidated financial statements and managing the full accounting cycle.
Technical Excellence: Lead the accounting analysis for new accounting standards (IFRS).
Legal & Corporate Records : Oversee the maintenance of legal and corporate records including the preparation and filing of resolutions corporate registrations and annual information filings.
Payroll Leadership: Assume full purview over the payroll function including direct management of the payroll team
Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a robust internal control environment to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Tax Support: Oversee monthly sales tax returns and assist with preparation and review of income tax returns and tax credit applications in Canada and the U.Strategic FP&A Support: Collaborate with the FP&A team on variance analysis department-level budgeting and forecasting.
Audit Management: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors managing the overall audit timeline and final deliverable quality.
Serve as a key support to the Controller sharing insights to support strategic decision-making and providing coverage to ensure departmental continuity.
mandatory CPA designation
~ Advanced Excel skills (e.g. Experience with Workday financial system is a significant asset.
