Procurement & Stock Planner

Reporting to the Team Lead, SCM Christina Lake & Christina Lake North Procurement, this role will be primarily involved with supporting procurement requirements within Maintenance, Operations and other auxiliary Site Service business areas of Christina Lake North. This role will support all operational requirements of materials and services, partnering closely with various internal stakeholders.
The SCM Procurement Analyst is responsible to:

• Source and expedite external goods in alignment with approved buying, receiving, and transportation channels to meet operational requirements.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders on purchasing policies, practices, and objectives.
• Recommend and select appropriate procurement methods based on the size, value, and complexity of business needs.
• Execute the competitive procurement process, including RFx development, evaluation, award, execution, and closeout.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely goods receipt and support internal KPIs (e.g., Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing procurement costs and improving efficiency.
• Operate in compliance with Supply Chain Management Policy, Cenovus’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, and all applicable company policies, standards, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Asset Maintenance & Reliability, Category Management, SCM Process & Performance, SCM Service Center (SSC), Community and Indigenous Affairs (CIA), Finance, Audit, and other internal teams as required.

Support the development of positive, performance-focused relationships with suppliers by encouraging service excellence and continuous improvement.

• Assist in verifying that suppliers meet Cenovus’s commercial, technical, and safety requirements.
• Help maintain supplier performance tracking tools and contribute to performance management plans as needed.

Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Support the execution of sourcing and contracting strategies that align with business needs and approved procurement channels.
• Collaborate with category teams to support planning, target setting, and opportunity identification.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of sourcing outcomes.
• Ensure procurement activities follow approved buying, receiving, and transportation processes to minimize transaction costs

Risk Management & Data Integrity

• Assist in identifying and tracking key performance metrics to support efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Help identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive monitoring and collaboration.
• Support team objectives by contributing to individual goals that align with broader supply chain and organizational priorities.
• Assist in optimizing supply chain processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements within scope of work.
• Use data and analytics tools to gather insights and support fact-based decision-making under guidance from senior team members.
• Collaborate effectively to help resolve operational challenges and contribute to high-quality service and performance outcomes.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including the Supply Chain Management Policy, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in training opportunities to build knowledge and ensure safe, compliant, and effective operations.

Technical Competencies (Assets)

• SAP systems for P2P process
• Ariba for contract storage
• Microsoft Office products
• Supply Chain Management processes
• 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or supplier management
• ​Knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycle, performance metrics and reporting, and SCM processes
• ​​Proficient in MS Office suite
• Experience in SAP and ARIBA
• Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and process improvement
• Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines

· Assets:

• Oil & Gas, Mining, or Utilities industry experience preferred.
• Post-secondary business or supply chain degree preferred.
• Professional Supply Chain certification (SCMP/CSCP/CPM/CPSM) preferred
