The Specialized Orthopedic & Developmental Rehabilitation (SODR) unit is 24-bed inpatient unit providing intensive rehabilitation services for children and youth from 3 months to 18 years of age with musculoskeletal developmental and neuromotor conditions.
Complete physiotherapy assessments and develop implement and evaluate treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and professional practice standards.
Work closely with members of the interprofessional care team and community providers to support coordinated and integrated care.
Support the physical psychosocial and emotional well being of clients and families throughout the inpatient rehabilitation process.
Support transition planning and discharge to home and community services through collaboration with clients families and community providers.
Practice in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a safe healthy and client and family centered work environment with a strong focus on safety.
Masters degree in Physiotherapy or Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in physiotherapy assessment and treatment of children and youth with a variety of conditions.
Demonstrated competence in evidence informed physiotherapy and interprofessional practice including the use of appropriate practice models and outcome measures relevant to a pediatric rehabilitation population.
Ability to meet the physical and emotional demands of working in a pediatric inpatient rehabilitation environment.
