Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months working in a retail store for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world!
As a deployed Retail Attendant, you are not just providing retail services, but enhancing the morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.
The Retail Attendant is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoys meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based environment. The Retail Attendant provides exceptional customer service in a retail store, to the CAF and partner nations. You prepare and serve Tim Hortons beverages, handle cash and card transactions, and interact with customers. You seek innovative ways to organize store displays, solicit feedback from customers, and stock the store shelves.
The Retail Attendant position is physically demanding due to the constant restocking of inventory, standing all day, and walking back and forth to storage areas.
The Retail Attendant plays an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events. An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience
Must have a valid Canadian passport
Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5)
In operation and daily maintenance of retail equipment
In ensuring quality of products meet established standards
In retail operations
In basic retail sales record keeping
Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential

Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends.
Tax free allowance: Home leave and travel allowance: Possibility of paid leave and travel allowance.
Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Excursions: Possibility to explore and experience the local culture and environment through activities like excursions off base.
In order to be considered for deployment, please include the following in your application. IF SUCESSFUL – SELECTION AND TRAINING COURSE
Successful candidates will be invited to participate in a multi-day training and selection course.
Fully paid attendance, including travel, accommodations and meals
Purpose: You will learn more in-depth about the day-to-day expectations, technical work-related training, as well as a basic understanding of military practices and procedures. Your completion of the training session will be valid for 2 years.
