SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

The Cost Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of the railway infrastructure project. This position is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on project costs, budgets, and financial performance to support decision-making within the PMO. The Cost Controller will work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure cost control, risk mitigation, and compliance with budgetary constraints.
Cost Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor and report project costs, forecasts, and variances.
Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and performance updates.
Support forecasting, earned value, and cash flow analysis.
Maintain cost control tools and data accuracy.
Assess cost impacts of project changes and delays.
Risk & Opportunity Management
~ Analyze financial risks, changes, and cost-saving opportunities.

Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure compliance with policies, contracts, and regulations.
Support audits with cost documentation and explanations.
Coordinate with project and finance teams on cost validation and reconciliation.
Report cost performance to management and stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or engineering. CMA, CPA, PMP, or PRINCE2) is an asset.
Minimum of 3 years in cost control, financial analysis, or project accounting, preferably in infrastructure, construction, or railway projects.
Technical competencies :
Experience working in a PMO environment or on large-scale capital projects.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and financial modeling.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
