Ironworkers Foreman Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Ironworkers Foreman to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity;
- Requisition materials and supplies;
- Train or arrange for training of workers;
- Advising management of any issues, impacts, risks or potential costs (financial or time);
- Communicating to city’s by law officers, WCB inspectors on the site, providing them report of work on the site;
- Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed;
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments;
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers such as Ironworkers, related apprentices;
- May perform the same duties as team when required;
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions;
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations;
- Prepare production and other reports.
Requirements:
- Trade certification for ironworker (reinforcing) is an asset to have, but not mandatory;
- Basic knowledge of English is required;
- Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks;
- Requires lifting, pulling and carrying of equipment and other objects;
- Willing and able to perform physically demanding work including the ability to lift up to 50lbs;
- 4-5 years of work experience in the trade with at least 1 years experience as foreman is required;
- Candidate should be willing to work outdoors, indoors and all weather conditions;
- Completion of secondary school is required;
- Ability to supervise and instruct team of 10 or more people.
