PSW Support for Female in her 80s
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Personal Support Worker to provide one-on-one care for a female in her 80s who has recently returned home following a hospital stay. The role involves daily support with mobility, personal care, medication management, and overnight supervision, in a private home setting. We are open to either a live-in arrangement or a live-out schedule and happy to discuss what works best for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Mobility assistance: Support with transfers, walking, and general movement around the home, with attention to fall prevention. Personal hygiene: Assist with dressing, grooming, oral care, and other daily hygiene needs. Bathing support: Assist safely with bathing/showering, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety throughout. Washroom/toileting assistance: Provide support with toileting needs as required, maintaining dignity and hygiene. Medication (pill) management: Provide medication reminders and assist with organizing/administering medication Overnight care: Provide overnight monitoring and assistance, including help with nighttime washroom trips, repositioning, and responding to any needs that arise during the night. Companionship & monitoring: Offer companionship, and monitor and report any changes in condition, mood, or behavior to family members. Light care-related tasks: Light tidying related to care areas (e.g., linens, personal space) as needed. Qualifications Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification program, or equivalent home care/caregiving credential. Prior experience caring for elderly clients, ideally including post-hospital recovery or mobility-limited clients. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Clean vulnerable sector police background check (or willingness to obtain one). Verifiable references from prior clients or employers. Patient, compassionate, reliable, and able to maintain client dignity and privacy at all times. (Full-Time, Part-Time, Live-In) For morning, day, evening, night (on weekend)
