THE POSITION 

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from understanding hiring needs and developing effective sourcing strategies to screening, interviewing, and coordinating candidates through the hiring process. In addition to traditional recruiting activities, this role places a strong emphasis on proactive and intentional candidate sourcing , identifying, researching, and engaging qualified talent through targeted outreach, networking, market research, and creative sourcing strategies rather than simply posting positions and waiting for applicants. The ideal candidate will take ownership of finding the right talent, build strong candidate pipelines, develop relationships with prospective candidates, and partner closely with hiring managers to ensure we are actively and strategically seeking the best people for each role.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Lead full cycle recruitment including creating job postings, resume screening, conducting interviews, and support offer negotiations in a timely manner for full-time and part-time positions.  


• Manage internal and external job boards.  


• Updating and creating job descriptions and new jobs within CSEC in partnership with Managers.  


• Draft new and internal movement employment letters for new employees.  


• Take lead on approval process with new hire agreements with department heads and CFO.  


• Work with hiring managers on strategies to find the top talent based on workforce plans and budget.  


• Build relationships with hiring managers to understand their business needs and hiring practices.  


• Engage in hourly recruitment process to educate and train hiring managers on best practices.  


• Support hiring managers on completing a day one agenda for new hires and transition plan when required.  


• Engage leaders in all recruitment activities and present participation requirements as necessary for any internal and external job fairs.  


• Take lead and manage internal job fairs while partnering with digital, marketing, Indeed and managers to advertise ensure sufficient support.  


• Create and support recruiting analytics for the HR team.  


• Attend external job fairs as required to enhance CSEC brand.  


• Manage LinkedIn page and respond to incoming queries.  


• Enhance and improve recruitment strategies and templates.  


• Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules.  


• Support onboarding process for new salaried employees  


• Maintain UKG Recruiting Gateway  


• Manage the offer stage of the recruitment process, including preparing and presenting offers, and answering candidate questions.  


• Screen resumes and job applications  


• Complete and submit internal and external employment related surveys, reports, and data requests, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational requirements.  


• Create talent pipeline with high potential candidates for future job opportunities  


• Prepare draft interview/pre-screen guides and other recruitment documentation to support full-time and part-time hiring process  


• Initiate criminal background checks and other pre-employment screening requirements for prospective employees.  


• All other duties as assigned.  

THE INDIVIDUAL 

The ideal individual will have the following background: 

• Post-Secondary education in Human Resources, Commerce or Business Administration or relevant experience.  


• 1-3 years of progressively more responsibility in Human Resources;  


• Understanding of legislation within Alberta, specifically Employment Standards, Human Rights, PIPA are required;  


• HR Designations such as CPHR, RPR considered an asset.

• Strong integrity and ethics, coupled with the ability to keep matters and information strictly confidential,  


• Demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making skills with strong organizational skills, with ability to know when to escalate to the HR Business Partner for resolution support.  


• Knowledge of best practices within Recruitment.  


• You analyze all ‘avenues’ to problem solving and are able to approach concerns in a collaborative manner, while keeping calm in high stress situations.  


• You are exceptional in managing priorities, despite deadlines, and have a strong sense of prioritization and ability to follow up on outstanding tasks in a proactive manner.  


• Beginner level in Microsoft Office skill.  


• Experience in HRIS environment, preferably experience with UKG.  


• You are people focused and results driven, coupled with exceptional communication skills;
