Manager, IT Finance (Oakville)

We’re on the hunt for a seasoned IT Finance Manager to join a dynamic team in Oakville, ON.
This is a net new position, created to meet the growing need for a dedicated, skilled professional to oversee the IT finance function.
The role is designed for a hybrid work model, with a mandatory three days in the office (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The office space has been recently renovated with a mix of cubicles and collaborative “scrum spaces” to support both individual focus and group projects.

Responsibilities
- Leading Financial Operations: Lead and manage all aspects of IT finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, long‑range capital planning, and variance analysis.
- Driving a Major Migration: Instrumental in migrating from a manual, homegrown system to a new enterprise‑grade financial management tool, IBM Apptio. Lead discovery and implementation from mid‑October onward.
- Managing a Team: Supervise two direct reports—a Accounts Payable Specialist and an IT Finance Analyst—and collaborate closely with the broader IT pillar.
- Ensuring Financial Compliance: Approve invoices and purchase orders, ensuring alignment with financial policies; oversee the financial alignment of consulting contracts; track software and hardware assets.
- Collaborating and Communicating: Work closely with both IT and central finance teams, translating complex financial concepts to IT leaders and vice versa.
Qualifications
- Progressive finance experience, with at least five years of overall finance experience and a minimum of two years in an IT finance or technology‑focused financial management role.
- Strong background in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Advanced analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with financial operations systems, especially tools like IBM Apptio, is a significant advantage.
- CPA designation preferred; MBA or other strong finance background acceptable if solid understanding of finance principles is demonstrated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; personable with a proven ability to build relationships across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
