We are currently looking for SERVERS that are available to work lunch, brunch, dinner and weekends to join our dynamic team at BLACK+BLUE STEAKHOUSE. Black+Blue is a premier dining destination offering the magic of a classic steakhouse combined with a modern, energetic ambiance. The SERVER is responsible for capturing guest menu selections and presenting the food and beverage preferences in an engaging way. The SERVER leads in delightful conversation and creates the restaurant experience by their style and service attributes.

· Knowledge is power; answer questions about food, beverage, wine, and other restaurant functions and services; explain/romance the menu concept and style

· Genuine is the best; a memorable dining experience is always the focus, created by the art of service

· Anticipate guest needs; replenish mise en place, refill glasses, fold napkins, stay on top of table maintenance

· Respect; no request is too difficult; teamwork makes the dreamwork

· Work safely; monitor the cleanliness of your section and ensure all material and areas are safe and free from clutter

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

· 6+ years minimum experience as a server in an upscale environment, or 3+ years minimum experience in a steakhouse and/or fine dining restaurant is required

· 10+ years serving experience is considered an asset

· Smart Serve certification and responsible liquor service is required

· Wine certification (WSET 3/ISG/CMS) is considered an asset

· Guest facing management experience is considered an asset

· Can naturally upsell both food and wine

· A positive, energetic outlook, and a strongly intuitive hospitality persona

· A strong sense of urgency and ability to multi-task seamlessly

· Able to stay calm, prioritize and synchronize the sequence of service

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
