A growing engineering organization within the energy sector is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys bridging technical, commercial, and project execution functions. The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise throughout the proposal and project lifecycle, working closely with sales, project management, drafting, manufacturing, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.


Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Account Managers to understand client requirements and review RFP specifications.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Process Engineering teams to develop technical proposal solutions.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial quotations.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations, assessing both technical and commercial compliance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project management, drafting, manufacturing, and production teams during project execution.
• Develop and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Create preliminary general arrangement drawings to support proposal development.
• Lead project handoff meetings following award to ensure all requirements are effectively communicated across departments.
• Analyze project specifications and ensure technical and commercial compliance.
• Ensure proposal packages are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
• Share lessons learned and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and overall project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, process engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong understanding of industrial process systems, equipment packages, and engineering design principles.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and quotations.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
• Familiarity with P&IDs and general arrangement drawings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
