Associate Director Marketing Oncology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Associate Director Marketing Oncology based in Canada. This role leads marketing strategy and commercial activities across a solid tumor oncology portfolio in a dynamic, launch-focused environment. You’ll help shape integrated brand strategies across multiple tumor types, including breast, ovarian, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers. The position combines deep customer insight, strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and innovative commercial execution to support appropriate patient access and sustainable growth. You’ll work closely with teams across marketing, sales, medical, market access, pricing and reimbursement, and global organizations. The role also involves building trusted relationships with healthcare providers, thought leaders, and patient advocacy groups across Canada. You’ll have significant influence over launch planning, commercial investments, team development, and the long-term direction of assigned oncology assets. Accountabilities: - Lead strategic direction for the solid tumor oncology portfolio, developing integrated brand plans based on Canadian oncology market dynamics, competitive conditions, customer insights, and patient pathways. - Gain and apply deep insights into patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders involved in cancer care across relevant tumor types. - Lead customer and operational planning for pre-NOC and post-NOC activities across multiple concurrent brand launches. - Drive launch readiness and execution, ensuring commercial strategies are translated effectively into tactical plans and field execution. - Collaborate with Market Access and Pricing & Reimbursement teams to align commercial strategies with Health Technology Assessment submissions and support timely patient access. - Partner with Global and Affiliate teams to align strategic priorities, share learnings, and make effective use of common resources. - Develop innovative customer engagement strategies and new approaches for partnering with healthcare professionals.

- Manage commercial brand budgets and P&L for assigned assets, while providing clear assumptions and insights to support sales forecasting. - Lead commercial thought leader engagement strategies and build long-term relationships with influential oncology stakeholders across Canada. - Build partnerships with key patient advocacy organizations alongside Medical Affairs and Government Affairs teams to support the broader solid tumor portfolio environment. - Drive innovative thinking and strong accountability across cross-functional teams while ensuring commercial activities comply with applicable requirements. - Develop long-term plans for assigned assets and contribute to the evolution of marketing capabilities across the organization. - Coach and mentor marketing team members, including brand managers and marketing interns. Requirements: - 10+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare experience, including at least 5 years of marketing experience, preferably within oncology. - Demonstrated success launching two or more oncology brands, ideally across different tumor sites. - Proven experience managing multiple concurrent launches across different tumor types or therapeutic areas. - Strong experience in pre-commercialization planning, launch preparation, and commercial implementation. - University degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA, MSc, or PhD is strongly preferred. - Demonstrated people management and coaching experience. - Strong track record leading cross-functional teams spanning sales, medical, market access/reimbursement, and other business functions. - Experience developing and maintaining relationships with thought leaders over time. - Strong understanding of the Canadian oncology landscape, with experience commercializing hospital-based specialty products considered an asset.
