Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent/Contractor
Reports To: Director / Pharmacy Owner
Compensation: $70–$80 per hour, based on experience

Signing bonus: 10000$*

Performance Bonus: Based on clinical services.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our community pharmacy operations, with a specialized focus on Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and mental health support.

The successful candidate will combine strong pharmacy leadership and operational management with clinical excellence in harm reduction. You will lead and mentor a collaborative pharmacy team while fostering a safe, respectful, and stigma-free environment for patients.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, continuity of care, and evidence-based pharmacy practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care

• Oversee the safe dispensing, documentation, and administration of OAT, including methadone, Suboxone, Sublocade, and other applicable therapies.
• Build trusting, respectful, and non-judgmental relationships with patients.
• Promote harm reduction, medication adherence, and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, addiction-treatment providers, social workers, and community health teams.
• Support patients experiencing substance-use and mental-health challenges.

Pharmacy Operations & Leadership

• Lead day-to-day pharmacy operations and maintain an efficient, accurate, and patient-centred workflow.
• Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and schedule pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy assistants.
• Establish clear standards for professional practice, customer service, and patient safety.
• Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of care.

Controlled Substances & Inventory

• Maintain rigorous control of narcotic and controlled-drug inventory.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, counting, reconciliation, dispensing, and documentation.
• Ensure appropriate security procedures and accurate record-keeping.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and appropriately.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with applicable College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC) requirements, federal controlled-substance legislation, PharmaCare requirements, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate patient records, narcotic documentation, logs, and pharmacy policies.
• Ensure the pharmacy remains prepared for regulatory, professional, and third-party audits.
• Develop and maintain quality-assurance and medication-safety processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc.Pharm or PharmD degree.
• Active pharmacist registration in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia .
• Current authorization/training to provide OAT services in BC.
• Injection certification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of community pharmacy experience .
• Demonstrated experience working with methadone and/or other OAT programs.
• Previous pharmacy supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Addiction medicine, mental-health, or harm-reduction training is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong clinical judgment and exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centred, stigma-free care.
