Station Design Coordinator

Context

Reporting to the Stations Design Manager, the Station Design Coordinator supports the technical coordination and design governance of assigned station projects. The role is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary deliverables with internal and external stakeholders, supporting design reviews, and helping maintain alignment between project scope, schedule, and technical requirements.

The Station Design Coordinator works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project delivery across all phases, from concept through commissioning. The role also assists with interface management, stakeholder coordination, and responses to client, authority, and partner comments.

Missions/Main Duties

• Support multidisciplinary technical coordination across all project phases, from concept to commissioning.
• Coordinate deliverables across disciplines including architecture, structural, MEP, utilities, fire/life safety, vertical transportation, civil interfaces, and systems integration.
• Assist with design governance activities, including design reviews, coordination meetings, meeting minutes, change control, configuration management, and design assurance processes.
• Support the implementation of project delivery plans, including design strategy, milestones, review stages, interface planning, and risk management.
• Help ensure alignment of station design with project objectives, client requirements, operational needs, passenger experience goals, and sustainability objectives.
• Assist with interface management across disciplines, stakeholders, and third parties.
• Support responses to comments from clients, authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Assist with stakeholder engagement, including regulatory authorities, municipalities, utility providers, and other external partners.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support the integration of operational requirements, capacity considerations, and commercial or functional planning into the station design.
• Assist in the identification and monitoring of design, constructability, interface, and approval risks.
• Support alignment of station scope with budget, schedule, and performance targets.
• Assist with procurement support activities, including scope definition, technical specifications, bidder engagement, technical review, and delivery coordination.
• Support the maintenance of design intent during project delivery and help resolve technical and interface issues.

Profile/Skills

Education: Accredited degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline

Years of experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in major infrastructure or other complex multidisciplinary projects.

Technical competencies:

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Registered Architect, or eligibility for registration in Canada.
• Experience in station design, transportation infrastructure, or other complex building and infrastructure projects.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Strong understanding of design coordination and project delivery for complex infrastructure or building projects.
• Knowledge of construction documents, technical specifications, and multidisciplinary building systems.
• Familiarity with structural, MEP, utilities, fire/life safety, vertical transportation, and systems integration principles.
• Understanding of interfaces between buildings, civil infrastructure, utilities, operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of passenger flow, operational integration, multimodal connectivity, sustainability, and climate resilience principles is an asset.
• Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering, interface management, and configuration control.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
