Electrical Principal Engineer at Elk Valley Resources (Fernie)

Take the lead on electrical compliance as Principal Engineer with Elk Valley Resources in the Elk Valley region. Ensure adherence to industry standards and enhance safety initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Principal Engineer, Electrical will be the key figure for the application and governance of electrical standards across all EVR assets. With more than 12 years of expertise in mining or similar industries, you will manage electrical safety risks, lead audits, and develop compliance frameworks. This role involves collaboration with corporate partners like Glencore to align with global standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of electrical governance and standards
- Oversee enterprise-wide electrical safety risk management
- Maintain alignment with regulatory standards across assets
- Drive second-party audits for compliance evaluation
- Mentor Electrical Superintendents in their responsibilities
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Trade Certification
- 12+ years of industry experience
- Eligible for Qualified Engineer registration in BC
- Proven leadership in compliance initiatives
- Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and safety management systems
