Labourer – Tree Service

Bilsten Creek Tree Service is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused Labourer to join our team.

This is a physically demanding, outdoor position supporting tree removal, pruning, cleanup, and other tree service operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions , performing manual labour, following instructions, and contributing to a safe and efficient worksite.

Previous tree service experience is an asset but is not required for the right candidate who is dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable with physical work.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist tree service crews with day-to-day job site operations
• Move, load, unload, and organize branches, logs, tools, and equipment
• Drag and stack brush and assist with debris removal
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
• Assist with job site setup and cleanup
• Safely use hand tools and other equipment as trained and authorized
• Assist with chainsaw-related work when qualified and authorized
• Follow verbal instructions from crew leads and supervisors
• Follow company safety procedures and Yukon workplace safety requirements
• Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions
• Work cooperatively with crew members to complete jobs safely and efficiently
• Adapt to changing job sites, weather conditions, and daily work assignments
• Help maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas

What You Bring

Required

• Valid driver’s licence
• Clean driving abstract
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Steel-toe work boots
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Assets

The following are considered assets but are not required:

• Previous tree service, landscaping, forestry, construction, or general labour experience
• Experience safely operating a chainsaw
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Current First Aid certification
• Experience working around trucks, trailers, chippers, or other equipment

Working Conditions

This position involves physically intensive outdoor work and may include:

• Working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, and repetitive physical activity
• Working around active tree service equipment and machinery
• Moving branches, logs, debris, tools, and equipment
• Working on different job sites depending on operational requirements
