The Archie Browning Sports Centre is a multi-use facility, which includes an ice arena, a six-sheet curling rink, lounge areas, and the Township of Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Administrative Office. The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programs to choose from. The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary Custodian Maintenance Worker position. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the ideal candidate will perform routine cleaning services in the Recreation Centre and Parks washrooms; monitor, clean, and disinfect changerooms, washrooms, activity rooms, lockers, and hallways; set up rooms for functions, indoor and outdoor events; handle various cleaning materials; test and adjust pool chemistry; and perform routine servicing and maintenance of pool equipment. Required Certifications:
Candidates must have the following valid and current certifications (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application:
Pool Operator’s Level 1 and 2 Certificates
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Partial high school graduation
- Building Maintenance Worker Course
- Current and valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Clear Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector
Salary: $34.69 – $37.35 hourly which includes 14% in lieu of benefits
