1st or 2nd Year Electrical Engineering Technician or Technologist

Job Responsibility:

We are currently looking for experiences and skilled Electrical Technician or Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible to install, modify, repair wiring, electrical devices, all electrical distribution equipment and associated electrical equipment, read, and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and comply with all current electrical codes. Must be able to work well on a team, demonstrate knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment and have strong interpersonal communication skills.

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
• Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards
• Determine root cause of failure and corrects conditions to prevent recurrence

• Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with appropriate codes (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code)
• Operate fork truck/machinery to move parts/materials
• Responsible for helping maintain the housekeeping duties in work area/office/warehouse
• Paperwork as necessary (work orders, time sheets, reports etc.)

Experience/Requirements: Construction Preferred

• Prior electrical experience with related experience in a construction setting.
• Ability to read shop prints and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in the following areas:
• Preventative Maintenance
• Hand / Power tools
• Measurement devices such as amp meters/meggers etc.

• Ability to work within a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Effective communication skills - both oral and written.
• Physically able to perform the duties of the job.
• Able to work in areas that are continually exposed to grease, oil, dust, fumes and/or potential for electrical shock
• Able to climb and work on ladders
• Able to work in confined spaces
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
• Willingness to Travel

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
