Salary: $27 - $34/hour - Based on qualifications

Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m., flexible to work some evenings and weekends

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Community Wellness Coordinator, the Mental Health Crisis Response Worker develops, coordinates, and creates a collaborative and responsive crisis service for individuals in emergency situations.

This position will develop crisis response services, including de-escalation training and build capacity of Oneida Nation of the Thames employees, community groups, individuals and families to respond to critical incident/traumatic events.

This position will provide assessments, crisis intervention, counselling, suicide prevention, community education/programs, referrals, trauma-informed care, and culturally appropriate care to support individuals experiencing crisis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related mental health discipline (deemed relevant by interview panel) from a recognized post-secondary institution;

2. Licensed or eligible to be licensed with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW);

3. Two (2) years' experience working directly with clients in a community health care setting;

4. Certificate in Crisis Intervention or willing to obtain;

5. Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willing to obtain.
