Summary

We are seeking an Engineer to join our dynamic team at MPC in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire process of getting a turnkey injection moulding system implemented in the production plant.

Responsibilities

• Generate cost estimates and quotations for new programs and engineering changes
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring responsiveness to customer needs and project updates.
• Plan and execute program timelines, identify and implement mitigation strategies as required
• Monitor and communicate project status, timing, resources, and risks to management and stakeholders
• Evaluate 3D and 2D part designs for manufacturability, providing DFM feedback and recommending design modifications
• Identify and implement cost saving design changes to optimize production efficiency
• Plan and lead the iterative tool grooming process to bring parts to print for PPAP
• Coordinate and lead new project reviews, Scope of Work and Kick-off meetings
• Prepare and manage all product and process development activities in alignment with the APQP process, ensuring accurate and timely updates to the APQP and ERP systems.
• Create and maintain production documentation including PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flows and Work Instructions and Inspection Guides
• Create and manage project budgets.
• Manage engineering change documentation and implement updates as needed
• Develop and maintain open issue listsand timing charts to ensure progress tracking across all projects
• Support and participate in Lessons Learned activities and post project reviews
• Liaise with internal departments (design, toolroom, production, quality, purchasing, etc) to maintain schedules and asses project risks
• Source and purchase resins and auxiliary equipment required for new program launches.
• Champion and support initiatives for cost savings, scrap reduction, efficiency improvement, and R&D
• Adhere to ISO/TS 16949 standards and company procedures for quality and process compliance
• Actively contribute to ongoing continues improvement and operational excellence initiatives
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that supports MPC's core values
• Promote health and safety standards by maintaining a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5s methodology
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, OH&S guidelines and the Employee Handbook
• Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, both verbally and written
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project success, which may include occasional travel within Canada or internationall for customer meetings, supplier visits or site support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and company objectives

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma from an accredited College or University in Engineering (or equivalent work-related experience)
• 5+ years in injection molding or plastics manufacturing considered desirable
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (complex assembliers, surface modeling preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and analytical tools such as Excel and Microsoft Project
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve and complez problems using Six Sigma methodologies and statistical tools.
• Skilled in completing DFMEA and PFMEA with solid understanding of risk mitigation processes
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Exceptional multitasking and time management abilities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to manage high-detail tasks while maintaining quality, accuracy, and accountability
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills across all levels of the organization and with external partners
• Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are considered an asset
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams
• High level of adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours as a project demands require
• Travel may be required within Canada and internationally based on project needs
• Valid G-class driver's license and valid passport required for travel
• Strong interest in the plastics industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
