Term of App't: Monday - Friday (35 hours per week)Start date: ImmediatelyReporting to: Executive Director, Northern Lights College FoundationSalary:Classification 12 $53,258.26 – $54,905.42 annually in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Vacation entitlement is 119 hours annually, pro-rated and front loaded from hire date. The College closure during the Christmas Break (December 25 – January 1) is also paid time off. Enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan is mandatory for all regular full-time staff, with employer-matched contributions. Description:The NLC Foundation Communication & Events Specialist develops, coordinates, compiles and distributes information related to Foundation Office. This position coordinates event logistics for interviews, cheque presentations and other special events, including those associated with existing and new campaigns. This position monitors media coverage related to Foundation campaigns and makes recommendations to increase and enhance media exposure. The successful candidate will prepare general content to support the department's marketing strategies across web-based and promotional platforms. This includes developing newsletters, social media content, brochures, and student and donor profiles. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Qualifications:Required:One year of relevant post-secondary education.Minimum of two years' experience in social media marketing or the non-profit sector.Experience coordinating events, committees, and focus groups.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to deliver presentations to groups, manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and foster strong working relationships with employees and departments.Experience and proficiency with a current version MS Office.Valid driver's license. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred:Diploma in a related discipline.
