Global Commercial Director - Mining Technology
Global Commercial Director
CSG is supporting an innovative AI-powered fleet management business transforming mining operations as they expand across Canada and international markets.
We are looking for an experienced Global Commercial Director to lead commercial growth, develop strategic mining relationships and build a global sales organisation.
This is a senior, hands-on commercial role focused on new business, strategic accounts, partnerships and converting pilots into significant, long-term deployments. You'll work closely with the Founder & CEO initially, with the opportunity to build and lead the commercial team as the business scales.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the global commercial strategy across priority mining markets.
- Build and convert a high-value pipeline across mining operators, contractors, OEMs and technology partners.
- Identify new markets and customers, with a particular focus on expanding internationally.
- Lead complex sales cycles from initial engagement and paid pilots through to $1m+ deployments and long-term agreements.
- Build strategic customer and partner relationships and develop the company's presence and credibility in new markets.
- Drive repeatable and recurring revenue alongside hardware and project-based sales.
- Own revenue targets, forecasting, account planning and commercial KPIs.
- Work closely with Product, R&D and Delivery teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Represent the business at mine sites, customer meetings and industry events globally.
- Build and eventually lead a global commercial team.
What You Bring
- 10+ years' experience in mining technology, IoT, industrial technology, sales or commercial leadership.
- Proven success selling complex technology solutions to mining operators and contractors.
- A strong network across the mining industry and the ability to open doors with senior decision-makers.
- Experience taking opportunities from initial engagement through to significant commercial agreements.
- A hunter mentality, someone who actively creates opportunities and consistently drives them through to close.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up or entrepreneurial environment, where building market presence and customer trust is part of the role.
- Commercial rather than purely technical in approach; technical understanding of AI, IoT, hardware/software or automation is an advantage.
- Global mindset with willingness to travel extensively across Canada and internationally.
- Based in Canada.
- French is an asset.
