Ethnic Food Cook

idine Indian Cuisine is seeking an experienced and reliable Ethnic Food Cook to join our kitchen team in Regina, Saskatchewan.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes and traditional tandoori specialties while maintaining consistent food quality, presentation, food safety, and kitchen sanitation standards.
This is a permanent, full-time, non-seasonal position with an ongoing need within our restaurant operation.Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes specializing in authentic Indian cuisine.
Operate and maintain a traditional clay tandoori oven for meat, seafood, vegetarian dishes, and breads.
Prepare traditional Indian breads including naan, roti, kulcha, and paratha.
Prepare marinades, sauces, curries, spice blends, and other ingredients using traditional recipes and cooking techniques.
Ensure consistency in food quality, flavour, portion sizes, and presentation.
Follow established recipes, preparation procedures, and food-service standards.
Maintain proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen workstation.
Assist with ingredient preparation, stock rotation, inventory control, and kitchen organization.
Monitor food quality and report shortages or quality concerns to the kitchen supervisor or chef.
Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining food quality and consistency.
Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff as required.
Work cooperatively with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient food service.Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and applicable Saskatchewan food safety regulations.Qualifications and Experience
Previous professional cooking experience is required.
Experience preparing authentic Indian or other South Asian cuisine is strongly preferred.
Experience working with a traditional clay tandoori is an asset.
